We are pleased to announce that Tim Goodrick, Partner – Financial Crime at KPMG, will deliver the keynote address at the 2026 AML Summit.

Tim brings exceptional international and policy-level experience, having operated at the highest levels of global AML/CFT standard setting and national financial crime strategy.

A global perspective on AML/CFT

Prior to joining KPMG, Tim spent five years with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in France and South Korea. During his time at the FATF, he:

  • Led country assessments against the FATF standards
  • Directed policy projects on high risk countries, beneficial ownership, human trafficking, risk assessments, and virtual assets
  • Represented the FATF internationally across major forums

Before FATF, Tim served as Director of Financial Crime at the Australian Attorney-General’s Department, where he led Australia’s national financial crime strategy and legislation, including engagement with the FATF. He has also previously worked at AUSTRAC, giving him supervisory and regulatory insight.

Tim has represented Australia and the FATF internationally at the G20, OECD, United Nations, Asia-Pacific Group, Basel Committee, and other global bodies, positioning him at the centre of international AML policy development.

Keynote Topic

International Developments in AML/CFT and the Impact on New Zealand

Global AML/CFT standards are constantly changing and New Zealand reporting entities are increasingly feeling the impact.

In his keynote, Tim will unpack:

  • Emerging shifts in FATF expectations
  • Increasing global pressure around beneficial ownership transparency
  • Expansion and complexity of sanctions regimes
  • Rapidly evolving virtual asset and crypto regulation
  • How these developments are influencing New Zealand’s AML/CFT framework
  • What this means for supervisory focus, enforcement trends, boards and senior leaders

For compliance professionals and senior management, this session will provide both strategic insight and practical context. It will connect global policy shifts directly to the day-to-day compliance operations in New Zealand.

Understand what these global changes mean in practice for your framework, governance and risk strategy by attending the AML Summit.
